Viu Manent Reserva Malbec, Soft Red, Chile, 14.0%, 2008, This Chilean Malbec has a nice powerful nose, with coffee, good body and structure in the mouth. Beemster XO Gouda, Aged 26 months giving it a rich butterscotch flavor.  Beemster is one of the only creameries in Holland still making Gouda by hand. April1

Piaugier Le Rêve de Marine, Syrah, Bold Red, S. Rhone, Fr., 13.5%, 2008, Classic SGM Cotes du Rhone, intense nose w black fruit, on the palate, black licorice, black raspberries and notes of dried figs


Lamb Merguez Sausage Lamb merguez, the spicy sausage from North Africa, is a popular street food in France, where vendors grill the links until crisp and lightly charred and serve them with mustard.  D’artagnan’s sausage is pork free and made with 100% lamb. April 2
Taft Street Chardonnay, Rich White, Russian River Valley, CA           14.2%  2008, Buttery, full bodied oak, nice fruit, good length, integrated, delicious   Horseradish Cream Sauce Stonewall Kitchen’s sauce is intense and creamy.  It is a smooth topping for various sandwiches, especially roast beef. Penfolds Bin2, Shiraz 78%, Mourvedre 22%, Bold Red, Australia, 14.5%, 2009, Fruity warm nose, and more fruit on the palate with some backbone; nice easy drinking Leyden Cheese, Cow, Holland

Creamy with a bright warming flavor from cumin seeds.  This is a great cheese for tacos.

Meursault, “Les Clous” from Verget, Chardonnay, Rich White, Burgundy, Fr.,13.0%, 2006 Elegant and balanced on the nose (fruit and oak integrated); intense, lean and long, with a nice balance Tetilla Cow, Spain

This cow cheese, also from Galacia Spain, is uniquely shaped like a Hershey kiss and has a mild yet tangy flavor.

Fat Monk, Chardonnay, Rich White, Central Coast, CA, 14.5%, 2009, Buttery, with integrated oak,  good fruit and length Robiola Due Latte

Cow & Sheep, Italy. Bloomy rind with a rich texture.

La Grange de Piaugier Grenache, Carignan, Cinsaut, Syrah, Smooth Red, Cotes du Rhone, FR., 13.0%, 2008  Dark fruit & stone in the nose; clean, clear, w. integrated fruit & minerals on the palate, nice acid, tannins & length Wild Boar Saucisson Sec

D’Artagnan Saucisson is a traditional French sausage using garlic and thyme to deliver a wonderful texture and taste.  This one has added depth from the free-range, wild boar.

Monte de Cal, Alicante Bouche, Alfrocheiro, Aragones Bold Red Alentejano, Portugal, 13.5% 2007 Intense, eucalyptus and red fruit nose; good body, nice fruit, good acid, medium tannins Der Scharfe Maxx Cow, Switzerland

Spicy, buttery flavor with a long, pungent finish.  This is our stinkiest cheese in the case, reminiscent of some fo the stinky cheeses of Portugal.
